Terms of Service

ScopeShield provides AI-assisted tools for generating Statements of Work, managing project scope, facilitating document signing, and identifying out-of-scope client requests ("the Service"). The Service is intended for use by agencies, freelancers, and independent contractors.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

You must create an account to use ScopeShield. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@scopeshieldapp.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Accounts are for individual use or a single agency and may not be shared across organisations without an appropriate plan.

ScopeShield is offered on a subscription basis. You may begin with a 14-day free trial requiring no payment method. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription.

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Paystack. All fees are in USD. You authorise us to charge your payment method on the applicable billing cycle.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Service until that date. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

ScopeShield uses large language models to generate Statements of Work, change orders, and scope verdicts. All AI-generated content is a starting point, not a finished legal document. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating any generated content before using it in a client engagement.

We do not warrant that AI-generated content is legally enforceable, accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific jurisdiction or situation. ScopeShield is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. For legally binding contracts, consult a qualified attorney.

The Scope Guardian feature provides an AI opinion on whether a client request is within scope. This is an assistive tool — it is not a legal determination and should not be treated as one.

ScopeShield facilitates electronic acknowledgement of documents by capturing a signatory's name, email address, and IP address. This constitutes an electronic signature as defined under applicable e-signature laws in many jurisdictions.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of electronic signatures complies with the laws of your jurisdiction and the laws applicable to your client engagements. We do not guarantee the legal enforceability of documents signed through the platform in any specific jurisdiction.

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create using ScopeShield — your project data, SOW documents, intake information, and change orders. You grant Saltern Studio a limited licence to process and store your content solely to provide the Service.

We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Saltern Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of ScopeShield, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@scopeshieldapp.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or cause harm to other users or the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Data deletion follows the schedule described in our Privacy Policy.
